On March 24, 2025, five UNIOSUN students – Olagbemide Dotun, Suleiman Farouq Adedayo, Ogundare Pelumi, Ogundare Elijah, and Olawuyi Mary – died in a head-on collision between two buses. Olagbemide Damilola survived and is receiving medical care. The university is assisting the families and investigating the accident.
